CTU’S MAY 1ST ACTION ISN’T ABOUT EDUCATION.
IT’S ABOUT POLITICS.

PETITION TO KEEP POLITICS OUT OF OUR SCHOOLS ON MAY 1 AND ALWAYS!

The Chicago Teachers Union is pushing to use students on May 1 for a political protest.

Our children should NOT be used as political pawns.

JOIN THOUSANDS OF CHICAGOANS STANDING UP FOR STUDENTS.

SIGN THE PETITION BELOW.

CTU press conference lobbying to cancel school on May 1

Chicago students are still recovering from years of disruption.

  • Only 40% of CPS students are at or above grade level in reading, and just 26% are proficient in math
  • Chronic absenteeism remains high, with about 41% of students consistently absent
  • Enrollment continues to decline, with CPS losing 7,000–10,000 students each year

At a time when students need more time in the classroom — not less — using students for politics is what is wrong with the Chicago Public Schools.

If you believe that students should stay in class on May 1st and NOT in the streets at political protests;

That kids should not be used as political pawns by the Chicago Teachers Union;

That CPS should get back to the education of children, not use them for politics!
